We would like to invite you to join the UWC Colombia Association. Students, alumni, parents, friends, Colombians, and foreigners are all welcome to join.
What is the UWC Colombia Association?
The UWC Colombia Association is made up of individuals who make monthly donations to UWC Colombia. The Association is governed by the National Committee, and all funds raised are used to support students. Monthly contributions are particularly useful, as they help UWC Colombia plan its expenses and guarantee financial support for students.
Which technology platform do we use?
PayPal is the platform that facilitates monthly payments. Users need a PayPal account.
How much to donate?
The National Committee decided not to set a minimum donation amount to join the Association. However, PayPal requires that donations be at least one dollar per month. Donors are classified according to their donation level in the following ranges:

The first step is to fill out the following form. We ask these questions because PayPal only provides us with the donor’s name.

The second step is to go to paypal.com and create an account. You will need to link it to a debit card, credit card, or bank account.
The last step: Decide how much to donate and make sure you choose monthly donation.

You will receive an email from PayPal confirming that you have set up the monthly payment.
Association members will be entitled to receive the Association’s Annual Report, published in the first quarter of each year. This report contains:
– Amount collected by the Association during the previous calendar year.
– Uses of the money collected by the Association during the previous calendar year.
– Number of members of the Association according to their rank (panela, coffee, etc.).
The report will also include statistics on the selection process for the previous calendar year:
– Number of applicants
– Number of scholarships How many were completed? Which schools?
– Number of scholarship recipients From which parts of Colombia?
This annual report will be presented during a virtual event where Association members will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the Association Secretary.
Who is the Association Secretary?
The Association has a permanent secretary whose duties are:
– To ensure the growth of the number of recurring donors and the size of donations.
– To maintain a register of Association members.
– To be the point of contact in the event that the technology platform does not work.
– To answer questions and help people who want to join the Association to register.
– Answering questions and helping people who want to leave the Association to cancel their recurring payments.
– Making recommendations to the UWC Colombia national committee on issues related to the Association.
– Coordinating the creation of the Association’s Annual Report. Coordinating the annual virtual meeting to present the document and answer questions.

Daniel has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and a graduate degree in economics from New York University. He worked for several years in New York in the finance sector and currently works with an environmental protection NGO in Switzerland.

La donación por PayPal va a la Oficina Internacional de UWC en Gran Bretaña a una subcuenta controlada por el Comité UWC Colombia. Estos recursos son utilizados por el Comité para garantizar los cupos y el proceso de selección.
